POST 110 Planning Meeting: The annual activities planning meeting will be held on 20 August. If you desire to participate along with the Executive Committee then call Craig or Terry (numbers above). Also, Wally is soliciting members to serve on numerous committees, so this would be a good time to step forward and get more involved with the Post. We need your help!
Membership Dues: This is the time of year to pay your 2009 Annual Dues. You will be receiving a notice in the mail - bring it to the monthly meeting and pay directly to our Adjuctant. She will get you your ID card, and can provide information on paid-up-for-life membership options to save you money. The annual membership dues are $30.
Blood Drive Sponsorship: Post 110 sponsors an
American Red Cross Blood Drive on many Saturday
mornings. The location is the Red Cross office in the Pembrook
Mall (on the back side of the mall next to SEARS). We expect to
participate in this program through the
foreseeable future, so please volunteer an hour or two of your
time to welcome and register donors, hand out snacks, or even to donate
blood if you can. Contact Mark McMillan (491-8021) or Wally
Timmons (340-3500) if you can help and join us in this very
worthwhile endeavor. (Wear your cap!)
CALLING TREE: Terry Howard is leading
up an effort to activate a "calling tree", making contact with
each of our members to solicit their ideas and participation. If
you desire to help in that effort, please call Terry at
466-7024.
NASCAR SPONSORSHIP: The American Legion, with
Team Johnson Motorsports, will be fielding the #76 Freedom Car to
compete in the NASCAR Busch Series. This media exposure will raise
our fellow American's awareness of what the American Legion stands for,
and the important veterans programs we support. This should
also help us recruit the next generation of Legion Members. We ask
your support for this important national program. For more
information go to www.LegionRacing.org
or www.teamjohnsonmotorsports.com and
view the Legion Racing page on this website.
American Legion Sponsorship: The American Legion is pleased to
announce that local funeral homes in your community now have the
ability to provide American Legion funeral products from Batesville Casket
Company to our members. In
exchange, Batesville Casket Company will pay a royalty to the American
Legion for each purchase made, which will directly support the American
Legion national programs that give help to America's children,
veterans, and military families.
Batesville
Casket Company, a subsidiary of Hillenbrand Industries, is recognized as
one of North America's primary funeral service suppliers of burial
caskets, cremation products and related support services.
Batesville Casket has a long history of support to the
military and veterans organizations, including making a major
contribution to the construction of the World War II Memorial in
Washington, D.C. The American Legion is pleased to be working with
such a high quality company as Batesville Casket to offer products that
support our organization.

Casket page on this website.
